Welcome! I'm an artist who believes that painting is meditation, a constant pursuit that brings me immense joy whether I'm surrounded by nature or immersed in my studio. My artistic process is one of continual discovery, manipulating brushes and palette knives to create fresh perspectives and dynamic color palettes. I especially love painting en plein air, directly inspired by the natural light and atmosphere, but I also find great joy in translating photographs into vibrant studio pieces when outdoor conditions aren't ideal.

My formal art education at San Jose State University and Chico State University provided a strong foundation in color theory, light, technique, and composition. This foundational knowledge, combined with decades of self-guided learning and the invaluable mentorship of fellow artists in the Napa Valley, has shaped my unique voice and vision.

While earlier years were dedicated to raising my children and a career in the travel industry, my passion for painting was rekindled as my family grew more independent. I'm grateful to now dedicate myself fully to my art, allowing my creative spirit to flourish.

I'm drawn to a wet-on-wet, loose impressionist style in watercolors and oils. Working intuitively with broad strokes and expressive texture, I aim to evoke the sensory experience of a landscape – the warmth of sunlight, the whisper of the wind, or the fragrance of blossoms and leaves. Each painting captures a fleeting moment, inviting you to share in the profound connection I feel with the natural world.

Travel with my husband and our black Lab, Louie, frequently fuels my inspiration, as I'm captivated by the ever-changing vistas across the country and beyond. We also enjoy participating in juried art festivals along the West Coast, finding immense support and camaraderie within the artistic community. No matter where our travels take us, returning to the unparalleled beauty of our home state, California, always renews my artistic spirit.
